Dr. Renard Thomas served as President of TASB from
2007 to 2008.
School Named after Christene Moss
Longtime caucus member Christene Moss from the Fort Worth ISD had the
honor of having a school named after her. The school is named the
Christine C. Moss Elementary School which is now in its sixth year of
existence.
The Salvation Army also named its Children's Library the "Christene Moss
Library" in recognition for her help to establish a facility for Fort Worth's
homeless students.
Christine served in the past as Treasurer.
TCBSBM would like to congratulate Dr. Thomas on his recent
election as President of TASB.
The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) elected its
2007-08 officers during the Associations’ recent annual
Delegate Assembly and Convention in Dallas, and Dr. Renard
Thomas, a member of the Angleton ISD Board of Trustees,
was named the new president.

Troy Simmons served as President of TCBSBM from 2007-2008
Graduate of Ohio State University with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery and
received his Bachelors of Science Degree fromToledo University.
Served as Assistant Professor of Biology at Alabama A&M Univ.
Member of National Dental Association, GP Orthodontic society, Life
member of NAACP and serves as the Treasurer of the local chapter.
Member of the Red Oak Baptist Church where serves as a Sunday school
teacher and the Church Treasurer.
Served over twenty years on LISD board of Trustees.
He has served as President of the Texas Association of School Board and
served a seven year term on the State Board of Educator Certification and
numerous other service groups and organization in Longview and across
the State and Nation.
Currently he serves as the President of The Texas Caucus of Black School
Board Member.
